By Matt

Even if you haven’t planned to start a gutter cleaning service and you are just after the information about the real gutter cleaning cost across US, this article is still going to be of great use to you, especially if you never had the chance to deal with cleaning of clogged gutters before; in other words, it’s a good read if you are a beginners. However, I don’t guarantee that other people won’t find interesting stuff in this kind of rambling so stay tuned and look for that type of information that you never had the chance to read about in the past.

It is very important for gutter cleaning contractors to understand how much they should charge their clients. If they ask too much, they can be ignored and lose a client and vice versa, when saying a lower price, they won’t make as much money as they want. So the key is to find a way to get to the golden middle, this way pleasing yourself and making your costumers happy as well. This is called experience and is gathered usually using hard years of sweat and hard work. There are several tips which are related to the cost of the gutter cleaning that you folks must be aware of.

Usually, gutter cleaning specialists or simply those guys that got used to perform such work will charge based on the general square footage of the house. So basically, if they ask almost 10 cents per square foot, they are going to earn approximately 300$ if cleaning the gutters of a 3,000 sq ft home. Frankly speaking, the larger the home, the more likely that they are going to charge more, BUT also have a lot of trouble getting all the debris out. In other words, be prepared to do the math and pay the man for exactly what he plans to do. Cleaning gutters might seem as an easy type of work, but it is actually quite hard and requires a lot of patience, attention and proper security. Don’t expect the gutter cleaning cost to be extremely low.

Contractors who are doing gutter cleaning can also charge you approximately $50 dollars as an appointment fee and take up to $0.50 per foot of the cleaned good looking gutter. So basically, when dealing with a 300 feet of gutter, you will have to pay a cost of $50 (appointment fee) + $150 (the actual gutter cleaning). Sometimes contractors might charge you using this kind of approach, but this is not guaranteed. No matter how they explain it works, before paying them you have to make sure that they’ve properly done their work.

If contractors realize how much time it is going to take for them to clean 10 meters of gutters, they can also charge you per house. In most of the cases this might be a little tricky, but you have to make sure that you count the hours as well and also watch him to do the work and not just wait for the time to pass. You can pay that gutter cleaning cost that he asks for but you need the work to be done quite fast and efficiently!

I even had the chance to stumble upon contractors who would charge you in dependence of the difficulty of work. If they consider that it is going to be too difficult to climb on your house using a standard three feet ladder then they are going to increase the price. Something like this happened to me several times in the past when I had no idea how this really works and what are gutters after all. Do not be worried if it happens to you just make sure they know how to clean gutters before paying the cost and everything is going to be fine. I would personally pay as much as they ask if I see that the contractor is not dumb, works fast, is very cautious, knows how to stay secure and protect the roof, doesn’t scratch the gutter and does everything properly. No matter how much he is going to ask, I’m still going to pay that cost because I feel that he deserves it. Do you understand what I mean?

This is what you guys must be aware of when talking about the gutter cleaning cost.
